How do you shell and Devein Shrimp?

Although you can you shell and devein the shrimp yourself, I prefer to purchase them already done but it is truly more economical to do it yourself. So here is a quick way for you to do it at home.

  • Begin underneath, and cut along the legs, just along the shell to remove
  • Follow by deveining it by making a shallow slit down the middle of the back to expose the black line.
  • Lift out the black vein by using the tip of your knife and then wipe with a paper towel or alternatively run under water.

This is a great little video to help.
